What You Get To Do
Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing consultants, including civil, geotechnical and environmental engineers, land surveyors, landscape architects and general contractors.
  •  Managing installation of infrastructure improvements.
  • Land use design and entitlement.
  •  Land Development budget and invoice management.
  •  Reviewing engineering plans.
  • Submitting application to local municipalities for rezoning.
  • Development and submittal or preliminary and final plat documents.
  •  Liaison with City of and other governmental officials, including organizing and attending meetings as required to resolve outstanding matters. Follows through with all pertinent parties to ensure that appropriate action on pending matters is done as required.
  • Assist in the coordination of zoning matters with appropriate consultants, legal and governmental bodies.
  •  Ensures all plans and required submittals are processed with the appropriate government body and follows through to obtain approvals as required. Track   progress of these submittals to receipt of required approvals.
  • Coordinates, schedules and attends architectural design/schedule matters and follows through to ensure required action is done as required.
  • Responsible for the coordination of land surveys, easements, etc. and works with surveyors, engineers etc. to ensure work is done as required.
  • Inspecting construction improvements.
  • Assists in the interviewing and selection of outside consultants.
  • Prepares and solicits bids for a variety of development required contracts.

What You’ll Need

 Education:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field preferred.
 Experience:
  •  A minimum of 4 years’ experience in at least one of the following areas: civil engineering, land surveying, land planning or construction management.

Required Skills:

  • In depth knowledge of residential infrastructure and building construction.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to various audiences.
  • In this position you will be required to make public presentations at City/County Council and Commission hearings and meet with public officials, so  a professional and presentable demeanor is required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to establish strong relationships with all levels of the organization as well as build relationships with outside resources.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Travel: This position also requires a great deal of local and regional travel so candidates must be willing and able to travel as necessary. Company offers mileage reimbursement for use of personal car. Candidates must have personal reliable car and drivers insurance

Work Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional office/ model home environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.   At times, the employee is exposed to and works in outside weather conditions and thus is exposed to wet, humid, hot and/or cold conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet in the office, and moderate to loud in the field.
Physical Demands: This role is equally sedentary and walking and requires reaching with arms and using hands and fingers to grab, pull, push, lift and at times will need to stand, crouch, crawl, stoop, and bend.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or more.
