Hayden Homes Surprises Post Falls Veteran, wins Dream Backyard for his Family
Tyler Labelle thought he was meeting his parents as they shopped for a new home in his Hayden Homes neighborhood, Corbin Crossing. Instead he was surprised by an entourage of people, balloons, cheers and champagne as Hayden Homes announced him winner of the $25,000 Dream Backyard Giveaway.
Labelle’s name was drawn from among thousands who entered at Hayden Homes’ neighborhoods and on the company website throughout the summer. The Post Falls native purchased a home from Hayden Homes in Corbin Crossing in July. His parents helped Hayden Homes plan the surprise presentation by telling Tyler they were interested in visiting the model home and making an appointment.
“That’s a lot of money and this whole thing is very surreal,” said Tyler Labelle after being stunned with the good news. His wife, Paula, already has great ideas for their dream backyard space.
The Labelle’s will work with Hayden Homes Chief Executive Officer Dennis Murphy to design their outdoor space beginning with a meeting next month. “It will be a fun process helping them define their dream. It could be anything from a super-sized play area for the kids, to a gazebo, seating area and kitchen,” said Murphy. Plans will progress through the winter so crews can begin work on the Dream Backyard next spring.
Tyler Labelle is a Post Falls native and veteran of the United States Air Force who served an active tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2011. He and his wife have two young children.
