Hayden Homes established a partnership with St. Vincent DePaul to build a housing village for homeless individuals in Bend, Oregon. St. Vincent's Place includes 10 sleeping units, a community building with a kitchen, laundry facilities, restrooms and an additional 600 sq. ft. Aspen floor plan for the onsite manager. We are grateful to be a part of such an impactful community to make a difference in the lives and future of homeless individuals in our community.

Oasis Village will house 20 adult residents in 15, 100- square-foot “bedroom shelters” and include a community building and individual storage spaces. Construction on the three-acre transitional housing village will soon be underway and first residents will be welcomed by the end of the year 2023. Project leaders plan to expand to 30 bedroom shelters within two years. A community building with meeting space will house showers, restrooms, laundry and kitchen facilities. Internet service, mailboxes and personal storage— including storage for RVs—will also be provided on-site.

Hayden Homes and community partners developed the HOME Fund, or Home Ownership for Middle-Income Employees Fund-—an innovative new trust that will reduce the cost of building new homes in Deschutes County. During the summer of 2023, Deschutes County Commissioners voted to establish the HOME Fund with $320,000 and provide $30,000 grants to builders who lock in deed restrictions on new homes. The deed restrictions will require that the homes be sold at an affordable rate to people working for a Deschutes County employer and making between 80 and 120 percent of AMI. The grants will help Hayden Homes and housing partners build more middle- income housing for our local workforce.
